This course presents structural design of steel bridges that covers both superstructures and substructures. The analysis and design include an overview of different short and medium span bridge types as well as long span bridges.
The course provides basic principles of strength, serviceability, fatigue analysis, redundancy and load path, as well as seismic analysis. Numerous examples and case studies are presented in details for highway and railway bridges.
